Charleston, SC, April 10, 2012 – Jewell and Ginnie, a Charleston/Atlanta based filmmaking company launched plans for “With A Kite,” a feature-length kiteboarding documentary. Shooting is scheduled to start in June 2012 and be centered around the 2012 Triple – S Invitational in Cape Hatteras, NC, which attracts the biggest names in the world of kiteboarding. “With A Kite” is being supported by several of the world’s best kiteboarders, including Aaron Hadlow, Ruben Lenten and Billy Parker. Funding for the project began today on Kickstarter.com.

“With A Kite” will be an action sport style documentary covering the beginnings of kiteboarding, where the sport is today and where it needs to go, as told by the most dominate names in the kiteboarding arena. The film will focus on a core group of boarders from around the world and explore what it will take to make kiteboarding a mainstream sport.

Pro boarder Ruben Lenten had this to say about the film, “It’s definitely a very rad idea. We need to educate the public and let them know where our sport has come from and is going.”

That’s exactly what filmmakers Adam Boozer and Tim Tewell intend to do. Filming “With A Kite” will be done from the air, water and land using high-definition, slow-motion and underwater cameras to catch jumps, slides and crashes from every conceivable angle. Digital distribution rights for “With A Kite” have already been secured.

“I see this as an eye-opener for many people and companies to see the future of kiting and its impact on the world, not only as a sport, but a lifestyle,” is how Billy Parker summed up the project.

Five time kiteboarding world champion Aaron Hadlow said, “We’ve all gotten to a stage now where we need to let the world know,” upon first learning about the documentary.

“With A Kite” also received support from REAL Watersports, Jason Slezak and his sponsor Liquid Force, who put together one of the biggest rewards for the “With A Kite” Kickstarter effort. The first person to pledge $5,000 receives a day of kiteboarding with Slezak and a brand new Liquid Force kiteboard setup. The Kickstarter effort runs from now through May 10, 2012.

Adam Boozer, director of the film, said, “The time is now for a film that properly documents the sport in a manner that showcases how advanced kiteboarding has become and how hard the core crew of riders worked to get it there.”
