Hurricane Norbert remains a dangerous storm after weakening a little on a course to hit Mexico’s Baja California peninsula within two days. Further south, tropical Storm Odile formed off Guatemala’s Pacific coast.

Norbert’s maximum sustained winds dipped to 205 kilometers (125 miles) an hour from 215 kph late yesterday, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said today in an advisory posted on its Web site at about 4:30 a.m. Miami time. The system was 660 kilometers south-southwest of Baja California’s southern tip, and heading northwest at 11 kph.

Both La Ventana and Los Barriles are in the path of this storm, however, as of yesterday, it did look like it would hit to the North of LV. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that all will be okay!
