A lone kite rode the wind currents through the sky above Waddell Beach last Thursday.
In two months, the beach will be a kaleidoscope of kites ”” every color and size will loop and dive and swoop across the water, delivering dozens of kitesurfers harnessed to them to some of the best waves in Northern California. They’ll create such a spectacle that lines of cars will pull to the shoulder of Highway 1 to watch them dance.
